Summary

HR 837 would require SPs to record all users’ surfing activity, IM conversations and email traffic indefinitely./1/ This bill has the official short title the Internet Stopping Adults Facilitating the Exploitation of Today's Youth Act (SAFETY) of 2007.

Background

This bill is aimed at increasing the tools available to law enforcement for "cyber-crimes and cyber-terrorism" /2/

Detail

Also calls for special identifying code on porn sites and increased jail terms for sex crimes involving minors.
